Five Ways to Relax During Covid

Updated: Dec 21, 2020

  1. Read a book. There is no greater feeling than putting on my lounge clothes and reading a good book. Throw in some piping hot tea and a blanket and that's a great night for me. Even if you don't like the feel of a physical book in your hands audiobooks and E-books are just as relaxing. Find a comfortable place and it just adds to the experience. My favorite place to read is on my chaise with a mountain of pillows behind me.

  2. Watch a movie. Grab some popcorn or your favorite snack and watch a movie. I'm partial to action or thrillers. Or you can watch your favorite TV show. I've really been into Moesha, Girlfriends, and Reruns of Criminal Minds.

  3. Take a nap. If you know me, you know I love a good nap. Particular on the weekend. Usually, I'm up earlier than I would like on the weekends so I enjoy an afternoon nap. This household shuts down for about two hours. Eli knows, if he is coming to wake me up it better be important. Like, Jesus is coming back and I see chariots important.

  4. Light some candles. When I have a ton of work to do I like to light a candle. It sets a relaxing vibe and they smell amazing. My favorite scent is Cranberry Mandarin or Apple cinnamon. I get more work done and the smell flows through the entire house.

  5. Take a bath. So, if you couple #1 and #4 with this one you've reached the ultimate relaxation level. As a mom, there can be times when I need a break or want to go to the spa. If I can't get to the spa, I make the spa come to me. I love lavender Epsom salt and lavender essential oil (about 6 drops). Amazon has some great bath caddies too.
