Coffee and Safe Spaces

Updated: Dec 20, 2020

Chileeeeeeee, this past week proved to be quite a lot and I know you can relate. I decide this week I would give myself the gift of a morning treat. If you know me, you know I have an intense love of coffee...a borderline obsession. 😩I have transitioned to decaf for the most part.

But back to my previous week. In all things and especially now, I try to keep it positive. Another thing I strive to do is keep it real. Last week there was a lot going on, I felt the pressure of missing my family, and I had enough. It just all seemed to be too much. I called my safe space.

It's the one person who will remind you that it's ok to cry and have a moment. The one who reminds you of who you are and to whom you belong. I encourage you all to know who your safe space is (other than God). After that convo, some Bible study, and journaling... I'm on the mend. I recognize that even when you have all the time to do stuff, some time can be used to mentally rest.

So this week my treat to myself is a deluxe coffee. I added 1/2 tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup (Torani), 1/2 tbsp Toasted marshmallow mocha creamer (Coffeemate), and I added a tsp of Nestle hot chocolate mix. Is it the healthiest probs not, but when I sip it and listen to worship music it calms me. That's worth some extra calories for this week.
