Fall and Sloppy Joes

Fall and Sloppy Joes

So the weather is becoming colder. Leaves are changing colors and Pumpkin Spice Latte season is upon us. In honor of my favorite season, here is one of my simple recipes for a good ole sloppy joe.

Ingredients:

Ground turkey 1 lb

Steak sauce 1/4 cup

Dry mustard 2 tbsp

Brown sugar 2 tbsp

Red Pepper Pasta Sauce 1 1/2 cups (Kroger brand)

1 package of seasoning blend (onion, green pepper, and garlic)

Mrs. Dash onion and herb *to taste

Mrs. Dash original blend * to taste

Pepper to taste

Sea salt (I use pink Himalayan sea salt) 1/2 tsp

-this sea salt is pretty concentrated, a little goes a very long way

Cooking:

1. Season your meat, and place in a skillet already warm in medium high heat

2. Once meat is brown add steak sauce, brown sugar, and seasoning blend. Let this mixture simmer for 5 minutes. Stir.

3. Add pasta sauce. Stir.

4. Turn to low heat. Let simmer for 20 minutes.

*If you are extra like me, smear butter over hamburger buns and toast them. Please be extra at least once. It's worth it. 😊

Enjoy!
